Week 1: Personal Branding & Effective Communication Our introductory bootcamp session will take you through how to develop a personal brand by differentiating yourself, building a network, maintaining your brand and more. We will also discuss important communication elements such as personal statements and professional communication essentials to starting off your college and professional careers! Tuesday September 7th, 7:00-8:00 PM EST Hitchcock Hall 035 Week 2: LinkedIn & Resume Workshop Building upon personal branding and communication skills we will create, polish and professionalize your career toolbox. Many recruiters use LinkedIn to find and investigate potential employees meaning it is an essential internet presence to maintain and your resume is one of your first impressions. This session will allow you to get tips and insights from our executive board and more! Tuesday September 14th, 7:00-8:00 PM EST Hitchcock Hall 035 Week 3: Networking & Professional Dress What questions do you ask when networking? What do you wear? In preparation for our alumni networking night we will go over the answers to these questions and more! Tuesday September 21th, 7:00-8:00 PM EST Hitchcock Hall 035 Week 4: Networking Night We are excited to be back in person as an organization as well as being joined by alumni, corporate sponsors and more professionals. At Curl Hall we will spend the evening enjoying drinks and appetizers as we chat and learn from those who have been where we are. Thursday September 30th, 7:00-8:00 PM EST Curl Hall Week 5: Nicole Balkenbusch, Sorry Not Sorry Esteemed alumni Nicole Balkenbusch who is now the Head of Finance for Amazon North American Customer Service will join us via Zoom to give us her Sorry not Sorry talk. But there’s more to it than just showing up. Join us for our final bootcamp session to learn what to wear, what to ask, where to go and more in preparation for the UBWA fall career fair. Make sure that a UBWA executive board member is checking you in, as that is the only way we can ensure students have participated in the Business Bootcamp events.
